Equipment Sizing Guide

Bat Sizing

We have received many inquiries regarding what size bat or glove should I buy my player.  Everything is a variable depending on the size of your particular player.  We at Lenape Valley Baseball adhere to Little League regulations for everything.  Every bat used in our Majors, AAA, and AA divisions must have a USA stamp on the bat.  It will look like this:

All USA certified bats will have that stamp.  That is required on any bat used in our in-house programs.

Baseball bat weight is measured by the “drop weight” designation where drop weight is the difference between the length and weight of the bat.  For example, a bat that is 30” in length and weighs 20oz, would have a -10 drop weight.

  • A – Quickball – your player will receive a Quickball bat with their registration.
  • AA – 27”-29” with a drop minimum of -10
  • AAA – 28”-30” with a drop minimum of -10
  • Majors – 28”-32” with a drop minimum of -10

We do not see a reason for any player to have a bat length more than 32” in youth baseball.  Even if your child is 6’2”.

The above chart is a guide.  Go to a sporting goods store and try on gloves.  See what fits your player the best.  Remember, our single A division plays Quickball and glove is not used.  We teach the players to catch without the glove to make the transition easier when they move into the higher levels.
