Field Care & Maintenance 

Field maintenance is important part of being a Lenape Valley volunteer.  The health and longevity of our fields depends on our ability to properly care for them on a daily basis. Aside from the annual field maintenance day, it is our responsibility to treat the fields before AND after every game or practice.  As a general rule of thumb the following procedures should be followed for games or practices (practicing teams will follow both home and away team responsibilities):

HOME TEAM - The home team is responsible for the preparation of the field including but not limited to removing all tarps, painting and placement of bases, raking and dragging the field as needed, painting foul lines and batter box, treatment of standing water and puddles, and filling in any holes or tripping hazards.

AWAY TEAM - The away team is responsible for the closing of the field including but not limited to removal of bases and replacing with plugs, raking all foul lines and batter boxes, dragging the infield, raking and repairing the mound, and placing tarps over batters area and mound if no following game.
